Students can now choose from four poke places in Westwood with the recent addition of a new restaurant in the Village. Homelessness jumped 20 percent in the City of Los Angeles this year, according to numbers released by an independent agency Wednesday. Los Angeles volunteers counted 34,189 homeless individuals in the city in 2017 compared to 28,464 in 2016, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority. Read more...
Los Angeles City Council will allocate $176 million to pay for housing for homeless individuals in its budget for fiscal year 2017-2018. Proposition 64 passed in November, legalizing recreational marijuana use in California. When it goes into full effect on Jan. 1, 2018, anyone 21 or older, including UCLA students, will be able to buy marijuana from stores with retail licenses. Read more...
