Transportation fair hopes to drive up student interest in ridesharing

UCLA Transportation will host a fair Thursday in Bruin Plaza that will encourage students to carpool and use public transportation. The Rideshare Month Fair will give students information about transportation methods other than driving, such as vanpooling or bicycling, said Jeff Olschwang, Bruin Commuter Services manager. LA Metro to add more trains to Expo Line to settle increased demand

Los Angeles Metro plans to add more trains to the Expo Line by December to meet growing ridership. In August, 43,015 people rode the line daily, reaching about 70 percent of the daily ridership Metro planners projected for 2030, according to a report. Read more...

Koretz maintains support from community in upcoming election

Some community leaders have already endorsed candidates for the city’s primary elections next March, including the council seat representing Westwood and surrounding neighborhoods. UCLA zooms towards carbon neutrality with new electric buses

UCLA officials unveiled two new electric BruinBuses at a ribbon cutting ceremony in Dickson Court on Tuesday. UCLA’s fleet now consists of 14 compressed natural gas buses and two new electric buses, which replaced UCLA’s last diesel-run buses, said Renee Fortier, executive director of UCLA Events and Transportation.
