Business improvement district to apply for Great Streets Challenge Grant

The Westwood Business Improvement District announced Friday it would apply for a $10,000 grant to improve Westwood infrastructure, said Andrew Thomas, the executive director. Mayor Eric Garcetti announced the Great Streets Challenge Grant on Tuesday, a program that would award up to $200,000 in grants from city funds to community groups and up to $20,000 for individual applicants intending to improve infrastructure on 15 predetermined roads. Big Blue Bus route from UCLA to Sawtelle Boulevard approved

A series of recently approved changes to the Big Blue Bus system will add the first-ever direct bus route from UCLA to Sawtelle Boulevard. The Santa Monica City Council approved the changes, which include the new Sawtelle Boulevard line and the consolidation of the Line 12 and Rapid 12 routes on Westwood Boulevard, at a public hearing on April 28.
