For the record, in my one year at UCLA I have only ever seen one of the Murphy Hall tenants in person. Actually, make that two: I not only had the good fortune of listening to Vice Chancellor Jerry Kang during the fall 2015 Diversity Caucus, but I also got to witness Chancellor Gene Block walk across Bruin Plaza while busily looking at his phone. Submission: Attacks on statistics lecturer Vivian Lew are based on misinformation
When UCLA statistics lecturer Vivian Lew received the alert of police activity in Engineering IV, she immediately thought of her students’ safety. There was an exam scheduled for her Statistics 20 students in a nearby building, so she hastily sent an email instructing them to ignore the scheduled location and avoid the area, reassuring them that they would have the opportunity to take the exam at a later time.
