I’ve watched the replay 20 times. I’ve read the transcript. I’ve heard the jokes on the late-night talk shows. But I still can’t figure out why conservative commentator Bob Novak flipped out on CNN’s “Inside Politics.” I’ve always liked liberal strategist James Carville, but even I can understand why someone would want to curse at him.Though I usually agree with him, there’s something about Carville’s manner that makes you want to start swearing. President Bush’s decision to appoint John Bolton as the United States’ ambassador to the United Nations despite partisan maneuvering should be applauded. Much of the controversy surrounding Bolton’s nomination relates to his willingness to speak critically of the United Nations, as well as his refusal to compromise on basic principles. Read more...
