Submission: UCLA administration clarifies insourcing of valet parking operations

UCLA would like to clarify a recent story concerning the university’s efforts to insource valet parking operations at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. UCLA’s efforts to insource its valet services began in the fall of 2016 and are in line with the interest of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees 3299 to keep jobs within the university. United Airlines can rest easy: The University of California, Irvine has officially stolen the title of “organization most likely to kick people off its premises because of overbooked seating.” Two weeks ago, UCI withdrew admission for nearly 500 students for poor senior-year grades or not sending in their high school transcripts on time, according to a notice it sent to students two months before the start of the fall 2017 quarter.
