UCLA cross country set to elevate their game against UC Riverside in season opener

Erika Adler only Bruin to race at NCAA cross country championships

Erika Adler was the lone Bruin left standing at this weekend’s NCAA cross country championships. Competing in sub-30-degree weather in Madison, Wisconsin, the sophomore rubbed shoulders with the nation’s best en route to a time of 21 minutes, 22.5 seconds in the 6K – good for a 136th-place finish in a field of 253 runners. Major strides by two runners land Bruins just shy of chance at championship

In what could have been the last race of the season, two runners stepped up, but it might not have been enough. UCLA cross country ran at the NCAA West Regionals on Friday, and redshirt junior Millen Trujillo and redshirt sophomore Lilly Schmidt both helped score for the men’s and women’s team, respectively, for the first time this season.
