UCLA men’s volleyball seeks 3-peat championship run amid coach, roster changes

Former Bruin, 3-time Olympic champion Karch Kiraly to head US men’s volleyball

The United States men’s national volleyball team hired Karch Kiraly as its next head coach, the program announced Thursday afternoon. Kiraly – who led the Bruins to three national championships as a player from 1979 to 1982 before playing and coaching professionally on the Olympic stage – succeeds John Speraw, former head coach and current president and CEO of USA Volleyball, as the ninth head coach in program history. UCLA men’s volleyball hires John Hawks as new head coach

UCLA men’s volleyball hired John Hawks as its next head coach, the program announced Friday afternoon. Hawks – who served as the Bruins’ assistant coach from 2015 to 2022 before taking on the head coaching post at Loyola Chicago – will succeed John Speraw, former head coach and current president and CEO of USA Volleyball, as the third head coach in program history. Speraw leads Team USA to bronze medal in Olympic men’s volleyball tournament

After finishing 10th at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Team USA swept Italy 3-0 to take the bronze medal in the men’s volleyball tournament at the 2024 Paris Olympics on Friday. Read more...
