UCLA cross country adds men’s, women’s coaches, welcomes new director

​UCLA cross country recently went through some major changes, many of which come in the form of a newly minted coaching staff. Former coach Forest Braden was in charge of all 38 runners last year when he headed the cross country team, but in 2017 the team will be split between men and women with assistant coaches Devin Elizondo and Jennifer DeRego in charge of each team, respectively. Men’s soccer begins season with high-scoring win on the road

UCLA football hopes for turnaround after last season’s missteps

Many of the players from UCLA football’s dismal 4-8 run last season will return in 2017. So will most of the team’s biggest questions. Coach Jim Mora is still looking to solidify his starting offensive line, junior quarterback Josh Rosen is returning from a shoulder injury that knocked him out for the latter half of last season and the Bruins’ running back brigade is virtually unchanged from the group that finished near dead-last in yards on the ground per game in 2016. UCLA’s depth chart has a mix of experienced veterans and new faces

Last season showed UCLA football why depth is important. In back-to-back games at the start of October, the Bruins lost then-redshirt sophomore starting right tackle Kolton Miller and then-sophomore starting quarterback Josh Rosen to season-ending surgeries. Read more...
