Bruins seeking to overcome inexperience at cornerback spot

The most experienced of the bunch still wears braces. That’s how young UCLA’s cornerbacks are. With the departure of Fabian Moreau, a likely high-round pick in this spring’s NFL draft, junior cornerback Nate Meadors – who said after Wednesday’s practice that he expects to get the braces off next month – has been thrust into a leadership role. Men’s tennis showcases full roster in match against Cal Lutheran

UCLA men’s tennis had a tuneup match midweek against Cal Lutheran, and coach Billy Martin took full advantage of it. The No. 8 Bruins (17-4) revamped their entire doubles lineup and two-thirds of their singles lineup in a 7-0 sweep over the Division III Kingsmen (5-16) Wednesday afternoon. Read more...

UCLA baseball defeats Long Beach State in extra innings

Four hours and 11 innings after UCLA baseball’s first pitch Tuesday, it was Chase Strumpf who put an end to the misty evening. With a runner on third and one down, Strumpf sent an 0-1 fastball high into right field. Read more...

Softball tops Cal State Fullerton with strong leadership in the circle

UCLA softball picked up a win Tuesday, and found a way to do it without Rachel Garcia in the circle. The redshirt freshman has thrown over 40 percent of the innings for the Bruins this season, and coach Kelly Inouye-Perez called her staff’s ability to give Garcia the night off “huge.” “As you can see, we’re heavily relying on Rachel, but we do have a staff,” Inouye-Perez said.
