Two Bruins secure spots on men’s water polo national team for Rio 2016

Mora’s extended contract raises incentives for academic, on-field efforts

Jim Mora recently signed a two-year contract extension, but it didn’t come with a pay raise. The details of the UCLA football coach’s contract were released last week, and any possible salary increase for Mora is tied to bonuses for the Bruins’ performance in the classroom and on the field. UCLA Honda Cup winners inspire future generations of women athletes

In a brightly lit hotel room, surrounded by cameras and posters, dozens of former collegiate athletes chatted with each other. A former Alabama gymnast sat next to a Missouri State basketball legend at one table while a Texas swimmer took her turn recording a video segment and doing photo ops. Read more...

Bruin swimmers compete in Olympic Trials, sink below preliminaries

This past week, the country’s best swimmers converged on Omaha, Nebraska, for the U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials. UCLA had its share of representatives, as 12 past, present and future Bruins threw their hats in the ring against some of the world’s most successful swimmers, some of whom are planning on adding to an already impressive list of Olympic medals. Eight Bruins to join UCLA Athletics 2016 Hall of Fame

Eight UCLA alumni will be inducted in the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame this fall. The new members have a combined 26 NCAA team and individual championships and six Olympic medals over their careers. Read more...
