Claire-ification: Jameis Winston’s pick shows NFL continues to draft talent over character

With the first pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Jameis Winston, a quarterback from Florida State. In its description of the highly-touted recruit, Sports Illustrated labelled Winston as a player who “will stand in to make the throw even when he knows the big hit is coming.” By selecting a 21-year-old embroiled in controversy, the Buccaneers are standing in and making a play, all the while knowing that a big hit is coming. Baseball comes from behind to win rubber match against Gonzaga

As the UCLA baseball team trailed Sunday afternoon, there were few signs that it would shake off its recent hitting woes. Although the Bruins won Sunday 6-5 to clinch the series against the Gonzaga Bulldogs 2-1, they struggled Friday and Saturday to string hits together as they scored only four runs in the first two games. UCLA track and field falls to USC despite earning individual accolades
