Women’s tennis comes out strong at Pac-12 championships, freshman secures singles title

With the NCAAs right around the corner for UCLA women’s tennis, most of the team’s players headed up to Ojai, Calif. for the Pac-12 tournament while some players stayed behind to rest for the postseason. Missing players did not have any noticeable effect, however, as players competed in either singles or doubles matches that did not count toward the score of the entire team as they would in a dual match. Photo: Freshman Kyle McPhillips said that her victory at the Pac-12 tournament this weekend gives her momentum going into the NCAA tournament. McPhillips won the singles championship, upsetting the No. 1 seed from California in the quarterfinals, with several Bruins sitting out of the tournament in Ojai, Calif. to rest and recover from injuries.




Baseball’s offensive firepower too much for Cougars

Just when UCLA baseball’s broken offense began to sound like a broken record, its slump skipped a beat. The Bruins’ quiet bats finally started to make some noise this weekend after struggling for much of the season. Read more...
