Redshirt senior midfielder/forward Fernando Monge had a career year in 2012, totaling 11 points in 19 starts for the UCLA men’s soccer team. Monge was recently invited to participate in the MLS combine, which will be held from Jan. 11-15 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Photo: UCLA men’s volleyball took a win in their first home matchup of the 2013 season, in a game against Cal State Northridge that marked their return to Pauley Pavilion after its reopening. It was John Speraw’s first regular season home game as the Bruins’ coach. The Bruins played a full five sets, continuing an ongoing pattern from recent games of going to the maximum number of sets, which may cause them to battle with fatigue as the season continues.
