Senior outfielder Chris Giovinazzo hustles for an infield single on Friday. In the Bruins’ Tuesday night 14-6 win over San Diego State, Giovinazzo went 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. The win was UCLA’s second straight coming on a Tuesday. The Bruins improved to 20-12 on the year ahead of their upcoming weekend trip to Palo Alto to face Stanford in a three-game Pac-10 series.

The UCLA club tennis team recently won its first national title at the 2011 United States Tennis Association National Campus Championships by defeating Florida 30-19 in the championship match. The club was created in 2003 and now has more than 100 members, who are divided into a competitive and general team.


UCLA baseball hopes to continue its series of Pac-10 victories

You have to go back nearly a full calendar year to find the last time the UCLA baseball team dropped a Pac-10 series. Since getting swept by Arizona State over the first weekend of May 2010, the Bruins have won each of their last eight conference series, by taking either two or all three of the games with their various opponents.
