Victor Chavez recorded a hat trick in Sunday’s match against Oregeon State, making him the first UCLA freshman to score three goals in a game since 1986.

In last year’s Oct. 17 game against California, Cal’s junior running back Shane Vereen rushed for 156 yards and scored a touchdown in the Bear’s 45-26 victory. The two teams will meet again Saturday in Berkeley.

Redshirt sophomore Kevin Prince will be returning as the starting quarterback against Cal in Berkeley on Saturday. Prince injured his knee during the Bruins’ 34-12 win over Texas on Sept. 25. Sophomore Richard Brehaut filled in for Prince in UCLA’s 42-28 win against Washington State on Saturday and threw for 128 yards, the Bruins highest passing total on the year.
