UCLA softball evokes mercy rule for victory over Stanford

After exploding offensively for a victory in the series opener, UCLA softball remained hot Sunday night against Stanford. The No. 15 Bruins (24-11-1, 6-3-1 Pac-12) jumped out to an early lead and continued to pile on runs, eventually defeating the Cardinal 8-0 (13-19, 0-8 Pac-12) via the mercy rule after six innings. Softball comes out on top against Cardinals in first game of series

The new scoreboard at Easton Stadium had an eventful first night Saturday, as the Bruins and the Cardinal combined for 22 runs. No. 15 UCLA (23-11-1, 5-3-1 Pac-12) won a thriller against Stanford (13-18, 0-7 Pac-12), rallying from behind in the bottom of the sixth to win 13-9. Read more...
