UCLA women’s basketball looks to bolster teamwork efforts

The women’s basketball team makes great individual plays, but that’s not enough for coach Cori Close. UCLA women’s basketball pummels Vanguard in season opener

The student section was largely barren during women’s basketball’s season-opening exhibition game against Vanguard Sunday afternoon at Pauley Pavilion. Students may have been studying for midterms, nursing Halloween hangovers or merely expecting a blowout, which, in retrospect, was a correct assumption as the UCLA women’s basketball team cruised to a 113-42 victory. Women’s basketball veterans return from successful summer to begin season

Over the course of the past year, the UCLA women’s basketball team has seen a stream of victories come its way. First, the Bruins won the Women’s National Invitation Tournament title, then, over the summer, a pair of players won gold medals at the international level. Read more...
