Women’s basketball sheds light on continuing gender inequity despite NCAA changes

This year, the NCAA doled out $5 million to address disparities between the men’s and women’s March Madness tournaments. The expansion of the women’s tournament to 68 teams, gym equipment, swag bags, hotel accommodations and the official use of the “March Madness” logo are now all the same between the two leagues, among other aspects. Women’s basketball set for rematch against South Dakota State in semifinal of WNIT

The Bruins will hit the road again with a spot in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament championship on the line. UCLA women’s basketball (18-12, 8-8 Pac-12) will head to Brookings, South Dakota, to face South Dakota State (27-9, 17-1 Summit League) in the semifinal of the WNIT on Thursday. Read more...

UCLA women’s basketball defeats Oregon State in WNIT quarterfinals
