Women’s basketball defeats Wyoming in triple overtime, advances to quarterfinals

Despite trailing in the final moments of regulation and the first two overtimes, the Bruins kept their season alive with a triple-overtime victory. UCLA women’s basketball (17-12, 8-8 Pac-12) survived their first triple-overtime game since 2019 with an 82-81 win over Wyoming (17-13, 11-6 Mountain West) in Round 3 of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament in Laramie, Wyoming on Thursday evening.  “At the beginning of the game, I said, ‘We got to stay connected for 40 minutes,'” said coach Cori Close. Women’s basketball to play first-ever match against Air Force in 2nd round of WNIT

The Bruins will face an unfamiliar opponent with their season on the line. In the first-ever matchup between the two teams, UCLA women’s basketball (15-12, 8-8 Pac-12) is set to compete against Air Force Academy (19-13, 11-7 Mountain West) in the second round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament on Sunday afternoon in Pauley Pavilion. UCLA women’s basketball to advance to 2nd round of WNIT with UC Irvine win

This post was updated March 18 at 10:01 p.m. With the Bruins facing a four-point deficit early in the second quarter, Natalie Chou squared up from the right wing.  After sinking her second 3-pointer of the game, the graduate student guard came right back on the next possession with another long-range bomb to give the Bruins a 20-18 lead.
