Queer Alliance hosts barbecue to celebrate National Coming Out Week

In celebration of National Coming Out Week, the members of UCLA’s Queer Alliance hosted an event known as BBQueer. This gathering encourages attendees to meet others with similar experiences. Fifth-year Chicana/o studies and Spanish student, Andres Serrano, shares his thoughts on why he believes this event is important to the UCLA community.

Students protest against mass incarceration, police terror

Around noon on Wednesday, students and other organizers gathered in Bruin Plaza to protest what they call “mass incarceration, police terror and the criminalization of a generation.” Protestors recited “A Pledge of Resistance” for students to take a stand against the criminal justice system, which has, according to the protesters, committed abuses against certain population sectors.
