Baja SAE is a student engineering group that builds off-road race cars from scratch and races them in national competitions.
Six weeks before competition: Six weeks before UCLA Baja headed to Auburn, Alabama for its first competition of the year, the team completed the chassis of the car.
Four weeks before competition: With only four weeks left until competition, the team continued to work day in and day out to finish assembling their car.
Competition: From April 9 to 12, the team saw all its hard work from the last couple of months pay off with a running car at competition.
“I want people to see me as a person first and my chronic illness second,” said fourth-year psychobiology student Camille Totah. UCLA students took part in the #ShutDownA14 protest to promote awareness and action on campus. Hunger Project, a community service organization, has shifted its focus from packing lunches to more face-to-face interaction with homeless communities across Los Angeles. One way they do this is by volunteering at temporary homeless shelters such as People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) Hollywood, where they cook and serve dinner to the homeless tenants. More »
