University police received 94 crime reports in January that resulted in active police cases.
Of the 94 crime reports resulting in cases, 32 were open cases and 62 were closed or inactive as of Feb. 2, according to a UCPD crime and fire log.
Theft and burglary was the most commonly reported category, with 44 reports resulting in police cases. Drug or controlled substance was the second most common with 10.
UCPD also recorded 415 events that did not result in active cases, with the following statuses as of Feb. 2:

Of the 415 incidents not resulting in cases, nine were categorized as rape or other sex crime. UCPD categorized four events as rape reports, one as a rape report with the victim unconscious of the act, two as sexual battery reports, one as a sexual battery against will for sexual arousal and one as indecent exposure.
Data for this story was obtained as a public record under the Jeanne Clery Act, which requires universities to report campus crime data.
