UCLA faculty, donors honor retired professor for notable research, leadership

Brian Copenhaver helped organize the first Fiat Lux courses to help students cope with the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Copenhaver, a distinguished professor of philosophy and history who retired in fall 2017, initiated the Fiat Lux Freshman Seminar Program in the two weeks between 9/11 and the beginning of the fall quarter in 2001. CPO increases student wages, expands food closet with referendum funds

UCLA Community Programs Office has raised student work hours and expanded projects with the extra funds received from increased student fees. CPO has received $603,000 from the 2016 Social Justice Referendum, said Antonio Sandoval, the office’s director. Read more...

Club launches website to connect inquisitive students with upperclassmen mentors
