Daily Bruin wins 46 awards at 2024 Fall National College Media Convention

NEW ORLEANS – The Daily Bruin took home 46 awards at the Fall National College Media Convention, including several recognizing coverage of campus pro-Palestine demonstrations. The Associated College Press and the College Media Association honored student journalists and student media advisors at the convention, which took place from Wednesday to Saturday in New Orleans. California voters to decide on criminal justice propositions in November ballot

Two initiatives on November’s ballot aim to shift California’s policies on criminal justice, but with each in a different direction. Proposition 36 would increase some drug and theft crimes from misdemeanors – usually minor crimes punishable by up to a year in jail – to felonies, the most serious type of crime. Read more...
