UCLA, Morgan State University partner for mutual research, mentor opportunities

UCLA partnered with Morgan State University, a historically Black university, to improve research and mentorship between the two institutions. UCLA study finds impact of culturally divisive conflict on American public schools

A recent UCLA study found that cultural and political conflict is costing American public schools more than just time. American school districts have spent roughly $3.2 billion toward resolving tensions over how political issues are taught in educational spaces in the 2023-2024 school year, according to the study. ‘The most beautiful part of Powell’: Students applaud reopened main reading room

For the first time in two years, UCLA students can use the Powell Library Main Reading Room. To find the perfect study spot at UCLA, students have to race for available seats and wrestle one another for power outlets. UCLA has 22 outdoor study spaces, 30 indoor study spaces and eight libraries, according to the UCLA website. Read more...

AFSCME Local 3299 rallies together for 2-day strike against UC

This post was updated Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. Thousands of workers struck against the UC on Wednesday and Thursday. Members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3299 – which represents patient care, service and skilled craft workers – voted to authorize a strike with 99% support after alleging that the University bargained in bad faith during contract negotiations.
