Lebanese Student Association hosts vigil honoring those affected by recent attacks

This post was updated Oct. 13 at 11:12 p.m. Around 50 people gathered in Bruin Plaza on Thursday night to commemorate lives lost in Lebanon. The vigil, hosted by the Lebanese Student Association, comes after Israel invaded southern Lebanon to target Hezbollah, a Lebanese political party and militant group that is firing rockets into northern Israel, according to the Associated Press. UCLA’s annual Westwood Block Party kickstarts school year, highlights community

UCLA hosted the annual Westwood Village Block Party with games, local food vendors and merchandise on Sept. 22. The block party included activities such as a ferris wheel and a bounce house, while providing students with discounted food and merchandise from both UCLA and surrounding Westwood businesses. Annual UCLA Volunteer Day brings thousands together to serve, build community

UCLA organizations host vigil for Lebanon following airstrikes, attacks

Around 40 people attended a vigil for Lebanon in Dickson Court on Friday. The vigil was organized by the UCLA chapters of Students for Justice in Palestine, Jewish Voice for Peace and Students Organize for Syria, along with the Middle Eastern Student Association, the Muslim Student Association, and the Southwest Asian and North African Health Alliance Club, according to an Instagram post.
