UCLA, Duke study finds detailed journalism affects local infrastructure spending

A UCLA and Duke University study found that reading high-information local journalism is correlated with support for funding local infrastructure. The study, conducted by Megan Mullin – a professor of public policy at UCLA – and Andrew Trexler – a doctoral candidate at Duke University – illustrates how local news can contribute positively to the health of infrastructure, said Trexler. Bruin MimiQ Soong reflects on her role, journey to Miss Taiwanese American Queen

LGBTI protections expand as public acceptance grows, Williams Institute finds

Social acceptance correlates strongly with legal protections for LGBTI individuals, according to a new report from the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law. UCLA announces ASUCLA meal swipes will only be accepted at lunch hours weekdays

This post was updated Sept. 9 at 11:41 a.m. UCLA Housing announced a new policy on Friday that makes meal swipes only accepted at ASUCLA locations during weekday lunch hours.  Starting this fall, meal swipes will no longer be accepted for breakfast, dinner or weekends at ASUCLA affiliated restaurants, according to an email to students living on campus from UCLA Housing.
