Michael Grunstein, pioneering researcher in epigenetics, dies at 77

Michael Grunstein, a distinguished professor emeritus of biological chemistry, died Feb. 18. He was 77 years old. Grunstein – best known for his study of histones, the proteins that DNA is coiled around – first became a faculty member at UCLA in 1975. Read more...

UCLA Dining to introduce breakfast, late-night options in spring 2024

This post was updated on March 8 at 12:04 a.m. UCLA Dining will offer new breakfast and late-night dining options next quarter. Bruin Café and Epicuria at Ackerman will serve breakfast options starting next quarter, while De Neve dining hall will also offer a pilot program to bring back its late-night dining options, according to an emailed statement from UCLA Dining. brvino seeks to foster healthy drinking culture, wine appreciation among students

Though alcohol on college campuses has a less-than-positive reputation, a new club is hoping to establish a thoughtful drinking culture at UCLA. brvino, UCLA’s undergraduate wine club, seeks to educate students on wine history and wine growing – or viticulture – to create a community of like-minded individuals interested in the diversity of the wine industry, according to the club’s official mission statement.
