UCLA students awarded Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service

The Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service, also called the Voyager Scholarship, was founded by former President Barack Obama’s family and Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky to support third-year college students who demonstrate exceptional intellectual curiosity and commitment toward careers in public service, according to the scholarship’s website. Former Bruins support picket line amid SAG-AFTRA strike

This post was updated Sept. 4 at 10:56 p.m. Recently graduated UCLA writers and actors expressed support for the SAG-AFTRA strike. The Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists began the strike July 14 following an unsatisfactory negotiation with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers on its latest contract, according to the TV/Theatrical/Streaming strike order. UCLA food trucks to remain a dining option for 2023-2024 school year

UCLA has announced that food trucks will remain on campus for the next academic year in light of staffing shortages at on-campus dining halls. The trucks – which offer meals in exchange for a coupon worth one meal swipe obtainable at residence hall front desks – were first introduced in response to staffing shortages at UCLA Dining after the COVID-19 pandemic. Visiting scholar finds hidden treasures in little details of manuscripts

The DownTo app aims to help users connect and befriend those around them

A new app marketed by two students allows Bruins to connect across campus and Westwood. DownTo is a location-based social media platform that notifies users when their friends are in the same area as they are. Read more...
