Relay for Life participants unite to fight cancer for daylong event

Jairo Madrigal was tired, but he did not let his first day of chemotherapy keep him from participating in this year’s Relay for Life. Madrigal, a second-year sociology student, began treatment for leukemia on Saturday, the same day as the 11th annual 24-hour fundraising event put on by Colleges Against Cancer. Read more...

Watts Tutorial Program collaborates to improve playtime for adolescents

UCLA students ran, jumped and giggled as they played a variety of elementary school games on Saturday afternoon. The games were part of a workshop for the tutors of the Watts Tutorial Program, which serves low-income elementary to high school students within the Watts and William Mead areas of Los Angeles.
