UCLA celebrates 30 years of sustainable transportation

UCLA Transportation is currently celebrating 30 years of its sustainable transportation program, although regular commuters said they think even more can be done. The move to solve UCLA transportation sustainability issues began in 1984, when the Summer Olympics were held in Los Angeles and officials looked for ways to accommodate the influx of people. UC CFO refutes accusation of interest rate swap losses

The Orange County Register published an article last Friday stating that the University of California has lost millions on risky bets on interest rates – a claim UC officials said was “completely wrong.” The article said University officials agreed to financial deals called interest rate swaps, which the paper claims ultimately cost the UC millions and would continue to do so for 34 years. UCLA Cru encourages spiritual conversations with week of events

He stepped in front of the crowd Wednesday night to share his story about finding God. To prepare for his talk, Trevor Davis wore a bright orange shirt each day this week with the words “I Am Trevor” on it in an effort to encourage dialogue about God at UCLA. Read more...

Kappa Delta passes out blue balloons to boost confidence

Hundreds light blue balloons with inspirational messages written on them filled Westwood on Friday, as part of a campaign to boost confidence in young women. The campaign called “You Make Me Smile” is an annual event organized by the sorority Kappa Delta as part of the Confidence Coalition, the chapter’s national movement to help women and girls to stand up to peer pressure and end abusive relationships.
