UCLA blood drive reminds community of positive impact of donation

Medical, dental and nursing students joined a collaborative blood drive Friday to collect donations for patients at UCLA Health hospitals. The drive, which took place at Geffen Hall, was hosted by the Blood Donation Initiative at the David Geffen School of Medicine in partnership with groups including the UCLA Mobile Clinic Project and NMDP – formerly known as the National Marrow Donor Program and Be The Match. Community members have called for an expansion of UCLA’s daily parking program, citing environmental and congestion reasons. Students for Justice in Palestine express event-planning struggles with UCLA admin

Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA expressed discontent regarding recent difficulties communicating with administration officials and planning events. Mohammad, a spokesperson for SJP at UCLA who has been granted partial anonymity for safety reasons, said he does not feel that his organization has been treated fairly by UCLA’s Student Organizations, Leadership and Engagement office.
