LA City Council approves plan to convert largest gas plant to green hydrogen

The Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to approve a plan to convert the city’s largest gas power plant to green hydrogen. The plant’s transformation will advance the city’s goal of reaching 100% clean electricity by 2035, said Paul Krekorian, president of the LA City Council and District 2 council member. Read more...

Luskin Black Caucus organizes events to commemorate Black History Month

The Luskin Black Caucus is celebrating Black History Month with a month-long series of events to commemorate the legacy of Black Bruins. The LBC, a graduate public affairs organization created to increase program access and education for Black students at UCLA, is organizing four events taking place in February for students to celebrate Black history and honor the achievements of the Black community, said Elisse Howard, vice chair of the LBC. USAC Facilities Commission reveals sustainability, funding initiatives in report

The fall quarterly transparency report outlined new initiatives undertaken by the commission, which is responsible for ensuring the UCLA campus is accessible and sustainable, according to its website.
