UC and UC-AFT reach agreement on pandemic working protocols

The University of California and University Council-American Federation of Teachers reached an agreement on COVID-19 working conditions after nearly a year of negotiations. UC-AFT, which represents more than 7,000 faculty members, and the UC reached a finalized agreement March 4, and UC-AFT submitted a demand to negotiate fall 2021 reopenings April 7. Read more...

North Westwood Neighborhood Council candidates seek housing solutions for Westwood

Several students running for positions on the North Westwood Neighborhood Council said they plan to prioritize affordable housing in Westwood if elected. The NWWNC is one of the current 99 neighborhood councils in the city of Los Angeles that represent all adults who work, live, own property or have local ties to Westwood at the Los Angeles City Council. Student unions call for UCLA Housing to adopt federal rent relief program

Two UCLA student unions are calling on the university to accept a federal relief program that would pay back debt incurred by university housing tenants. United Auto Workers 2865, a student workers union at UCLA, and the UCLA Tenants Union started a petition April 10 asking the university to accept federal assistance offered in California Senate Bill 91, which passed in late January. Class of 2021 expresses excitement at two-guest policy for graduation recognition
