Academic researchers sign petition urging UC to stop delaying negotiations

Over 2,000 academic researchers at the University of California signed a petition urging the UC to stop stalling negotiations, according to a press release. Academic Researchers United/United Auto Workers Local 5810, the union representing over 4,000 UC academic researchers, has been bargaining with the UC since May for its first-ever contract. UCLA professor receives award for developing drug used in breast cancer treatment

Academic Senate undergraduate representatives to receive stipends for their work

Undergraduate students on the UCLA Academic Senate will now receive stipends for their work. Following a year of meager appointments, the Undergraduate Students Association Council Academic Affairs commissioner decided to fund stipends for appointed undergraduate student representatives on the Academic Senate. Shooting outside Rose Bowl following UCLA football game leaves one dead

An 18-year-old man died in a shooting outside the Rose Bowl in Pasadena Saturday night, hours after the UCLA vs. Oklahoma football game. Kamryn Stone, a Los Angeles resident, was involved in an altercation that escalated into a shooting in the area of Arroyo Boulevard and Seco Street, according to a press release supplied by Pasadena Police Lieutenant Marcia Taglioretti.
