Frustration builds for Westwood residents near UCLA Housing construction projects

Several Westwood residents have expressed concerns about how UCLA is constructing new student housing in Westwood. UCLA Housing has undertaken several construction projects since March 2017 so it can guarantee housing for undergraduate students for up to four years, but some Westwood residents have been struggling with the frequent demolition, noise pollution and even alleged sexual harassment. UCLA tops public school rankings for third straight year, sits at No. 25 overall

Legislative act could create catalyst in reduction of statewide plastic waste

A new set of bills could largely reduce the production of single-use plastic in California by 2030 if passed. Senate Bill 54 and Assembly Bill 1080, collectively called the California Circular Economy and Plastic Pollution Reduction Act, are identical companion bills that aim to reduce single-use packaging and product waste in California by 75% by 2030.
