UC Board of Regents postpones vote on tuition increase to May

The University of California Board of Regents deferred voting on a tuition increase until its May meeting. The Board of Regents was originally scheduled to vote on a 2.5 percent tuition hike at its Wednesday meeting, but UC President Janet Napolitano said she thinks the University should advocate for increased funding from the state legislature. UC startup contest finalist hopes to connect research papers through AI

Program uses travel fees to finance projects combating greenhouse gas

A UCLA program launched this month will use funding from fees levied on business-related air travel to combat greenhouse gas emissions. Campus departments are now required to pay an extra $9 for each business-related domestic round trip and $25 for each international round trip that staff members travel by air. Read more...
