Two residents elected to Westwood Neighborhood Council renter seats

The Westwood Neighborhood Council selected two Westwood residents at its Wednesday meeting to fill recently vacated board seats. Cyrus Baraghoush, a director of coordinated patient services for UCLA Health, and Shelby Kretz, a UCLA doctoral student in urban schooling and nonprofit director, won seats reserved for individuals who rent property in Westwood. Rocket Fizz candy shop opens karaoke lounge in party room

Westwood residents can sing at a new karaoke lounge in Rocket Fizz, a candy shop on Broxton Avenue. The karaoke lounge is the newest addition to the candy store’s Rocket Room, a private party room on the store’s second floor. Read more...

Power outage affects Westwood businesses, residents

More than 200 residents and businesses are without power after an outage in Westwood on Sunday night. Power went out at about 7:55 p.m., said a Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokesperson. Read more...

Westwood officials rev up to increase parking opportunities

Westwood officials are discussing increasing parking opportunities in Westwood Village. The Westwood Village Improvement Association’s Parking, Access and Transportation Committee plans to take over maintenance of the Broxton Avenue public parking garage, advertise private parking spaces and implement a districtwide valet service.
