California Proposition 5 could reduce property taxes, state funding

Schools and local governments could eventually lose up to $1 billion annually if a proposition to provide qualified homeowners a major tax break is approved. Proposition 5, which will be on the November 2018 statewide ballot, would allow property tax savings for homeowners over 55 years old, homeowners with disabilities and homeowners affected by natural disasters across California. Lyft unveils subscription plan, but UCLA suggests more sustainable options exist

Commuter students now have another option to get to campus with a new monthly subscription plan released by ride-share company Lyft. Lyft released a monthly subscription plan earlier this month that charges passengers an upfront price of $299 per month to get 30 rides for up to $15 each, offering customers a long-term method of transportation.
