Gordon to compete for spot on USA team

Photo: UCLA freshman forward Drew Gordon was selected to compete for a spot on USA Basketball’s Men’s U19 team. He will compete with 16 other athletes for one of 12 spots on the team roster. Gordon has experience with the national program because he played on the 2007 USA Basketball Men’s Youth Development Festival Red Team.


Golf struggles in opening rounds

The UCLA men's golf team did exactly what it was hoping to avoid Tuesday and Wednesday, essentially knocking itself out of contention for a title with high scores in the first two rounds of the NCAA Championships on Tuesday and Wednesday. Read more...

Photo: Courtesy of DON LIEBIG Sophomore Connor Driscoll and the No. 14 UCLA men’s golf team began NCAA Championship play Tuesday at Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio. The Bruins entered the national championships coming off a first place finish at the NCAA Central Regionals two weeks ago. UCLA will compete in a field of 30 teams in four rounds of golf to decide the national champion. The Bruins were the 2008 national champions and are looking to defend their title from No. 1 Georgia. After the first round of play, they are tied for 24th place.
