Down one goal with three seconds remaining, graduate student attacker Nicolas Saveljic lobbed the ball toward center pool with sophomore attacker Makoto Kenney lurking. Kenney drilled a line drive into the right side of the goal to knot the contest at 12 and force overtime. Scoreless until that point, two-time MPSF Player of the Year and Golden Bear center Nikolaos Papanikolaou shoveled a shot in the first overtime period and tipped in another in the subsequent period to give California a multi-goal advantage.
