UCLA families put aside the rivalry and tailgate with USC fans

Despite the game’s location at the Coliseum, UCLA fans arrived early to Saturday’s evening game against rivals USC to tailgate with friends and family. One fan in particular took tailgating to another level. Rick Zumwalt, father of UCLA football players Erick and Jordan Zumwalt, brought his “tailgating machine” and showed off his Bruin pride amongst the sea of red and gold.


UCLA Rally Committee protects Bruin statue from USC threats

Every year, the Bruin statue in Bruin Plaza goes into hibernation during the week leading up to the big football game against cross-town rivals USC. The UCLA Rally Committee sends volunteers to camp out in front of its cage throughout the night and to watch out for possible attempts from the Trojans of vandalizing the statue. More »

Homewalk 2011 combats homelessness

On Nov. 19, 2011, hundreds gathered in Downtown Los Angeles for Homewalk 2011, a run/walk event to combat homelessness. The group included members of the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, who told their stories. More »
